At the age of 20, Daniel Hourdé studied painting and drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Grenoble and Paris, and since the eighties he has mainly devoted himself to sculpture.
In 1980, he organised his first large exhibition at the Musée de Villefranche-sur-Saône.
Since then, his work has been presented in numerous galleries, museums and international fairs (FIAC, Art Paris, Art Rio and SP-Arte), in Paris on the Pont des Arts as well as abroad, in Brazil, in Brussels, Berlin, Miami, Moscow…
Distorting classical canons, Daniel Hourdé’s sculptures belong to our present day mythology. The artist masters steel, bronze and gold to give substance to his purposes.
